Unleash your potential with Muay Thai at Carbon Gym
Carbon Gym’s Muay Thai program is open to all levels, whether you want to compete, get seriously fit, or just learn to move better. Training happens alongside members who take it as seriously as you do.
Why Muay Thai?
Our gym owner, Johnny Bourke, is a pretty good example of what Muay Thai can do. Johnny started his Muay Thai journey in 2009 and went on to win multiple titles across several weight divisions in both Muay Thai and Kickboxing. More importantly, the sport changed his life.
“In 2009, I was overweight, overworked, and over my appearance. I tried all the shortcuts, but nothing worked except hard work. After years of stagnant living, it was safe to say I didn’t like moving much — but Muay Thai changed that.”
Muay Thai isn’t just physical. The discipline and focus of every session build confidence and mental resilience that carry outside the gym.
What to expect in class
A typical Carbon Gym Muay Thai session runs through a warm-up, technique work, pads, bag work and conditioning. Our coaches guide beginners through the basics at their own pace and push experienced members with sharper drills and sparring.
Tips for newcomers
- Start slow. Nobody cares if you’re new. Everyone was once.
- Consistency wins. Two or three sessions a week beats one hard week in four.
- Warm up properly. It’s boring. It also keeps you training long term.
- Listen to your body. Push hard, recover hard.
- Stay patient. Every expert was once a beginner.
Give it a go
