Biography

Jamison Towers is a Geelong-based track and field athlete moving into the 400-metre hurdles after building her name across almost every event on the program: sprints, short hurdles, jumps, relays and the seven-event heptathlon. Her junior results include an Australian title, medals in four different disciplines, a Victorian heptathlon championship and selection in Athletics Victoria’s high-performance development pathway.

She recorded a personal best of 1:05.70 in the 400m hurdles at the Capital Athletics Open and Under-20 Championships in Canberra on 24 January 2026, a first step into an event her speed, hurdling technique and multi-event background suit well.

Career Highlights

Towers won Australian Under-14 gold in the long jump (5.22m) at the 2021 Australian Track and Field Championships, adding silver in the high jump and bronze in the 80m hurdles the same year. She took Under-15 heptathlon silver at the 2022 Australian Junior Combined Events Championships and Under-16 long jump silver at that year’s Australian All Schools Championships.

In 2024 she won the Victorian Under-18 Heptathlon Championship with 4,426 points at Lakeside Stadium, and separately won the Under-16 girls heptathlon at the Little Athletics Victoria State Combined Events Championships representing Geelong. She placed fourth in the Under-18 100m hurdles at the 2025 Victorian Track and Field Championships, running 15.47 seconds.

High-Performance Pathway

Towers was selected for the Athletics Victoria Target Talent Program in 2023 and again in 2024, the second time in the hurdles category under coach Mike Donato. The program is Athletics Victoria’s pathway for athletes tracking toward national representation, combining specialist coaching with education and development support.
