Biography

Nick Kemp BJJ training runs through Daniel Cherubin’s gym in Norlane, where Nick has built a reputation for showing up to almost everything. He competes in both gi and no-gi, mostly in the heavyweight, ultra-heavyweight and open-weight divisions, and doesn’t shy away from absolute brackets against purple, brown and black belts. His purple belt came within three years of starting the sport, a quick climb by most standards. Since May 2025 he’s put together at least 20 podium finishes: 12 gold, six silver and two bronze, spread across Australian, Victorian, NSW and international competition. Carbon Gym sponsors Nick for all his strength and conditioning and recovery needs, and he keeps representing Geelong at events around the state, the country and overseas.
