Meet Stu McIntosh, have you seen him around the gym? He’s our member of the month for June and we asked him a few questions about his time with us so far…
How long have you been training at the ETC?
One year, started at ETC just after the merger with Main Event Fitness.
When/Why did you did you start training Muay Thai?
I was working with Jacob and had seen where he was training and he told me to come and check it out. I decided I wanted to start living a healthier lifestyle and the day I quit smoking I came in and did my first class, jumped straight in the deep and have never looked back.
How would you describe Muay Thai training to someone that had never heard of it before?
It’s a lot of fun and there is heaps to learn.
What are you current fitness goals?
Lose a little more weight, I’ve currently gone from 85kg to 73kg. I also want to be able to have my first Muay Thai fight.
What do you love about the ETC?
The people everyone is so kind and friendly. I also like sparring sessions with Shawn and getting a few sneaky punches in.
As it’s getting colder, we tend to see a larger drop off in gym attendance rates – what keeps you motivated to train on those cold days?
The cold doesn’t really bother me, I’m used to it with work, plus I’m motivated to get to my end goal.
